ORGANIZATION: LIGHT MOVEMENT

LIGHT Movement is looking for an individual to assist in spreading the word about LIGHT programs including classes, retreats, workshops, and trainings.

LIGHT is located in Denver, Colorado, but this opportunity is virtual. The number of hours and schedule are flexible.

Possible duties of this volunteer position include:

  • Contacting mental health and grief support organizations to provide information about relevant programs.
  • Contacting univeresities and other education programs at which students study social work, psychology, and healthcare to encourage attendance at trainings at which they can earn continuing education units.
  • Coordinating with partnership sites to ensure that programs are being taught effectively and in alignment with the partner's preferences.

This volunteer should feel free to share LIGHT with organizations with whom the volunteer identifies such as veteran support groups, assisted living facilities, LGBTQ+ support groups, and others.

Mission Statement

The mission of LIGHT Movement is to provide somatic-based tools and other resources to support people in their grief.

Description

LIGHT Movement was created to remind those experiencing grief that they are not alone.

The organization has four goals:

  1. Remind people they are not alone in their grief
  2. Teach somatic-based tools to support people in growing/integrating/finding purpose from grief
  3. Provide resources and partner with others to support people in their grief.
  4. Stand in solidarity for all people experiencing all types of grief.

LIGHT offers the following programs:
  • Somatic healing classes including yoga, writing, and art
  • Workshops and trainings for professionals and individuals
  • Grief and burnout retreats
  • Events
  • Somatic health education
  • Middle grade educational program (beginning Fall 2025)
