About Us:

Embrace Abilities is a nonprofit organization supporting neurodiverse children and their families along the Mississippi Gulf Coast. We provide free, inclusive events that create joyful, supportive communities. We are on a mission to ensure every child feels celebrated, and we’re looking for a creative volunteer to help us spread this message through vibrant social media content!

Position Overview:

We’re seeking a Social Media Content Creator/Manager who can help us build a bright, colorful, and engaging online presence using Canva. If you’re passionate about creating family-friendly content that’s fun and visually appealing, this is a perfect opportunity for you!

What You’ll Do:

  • Content Strategy & Planning: Collaborate with our team to develop a vibrant content calendar that aligns with our events and mission.
  • Content Creation: Design fun, bright, and colorful social media graphics using Canva for posts such as event promotions, recaps, family/volunteer spotlights, and engaging content like quizzes or polls.
  • Social Media Management: Manage posts across our social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram), ensuring consistent and engaging content.
  • Brand Building: Help establish and maintain a cohesive look and feel for our platforms that reflect the playful and welcoming spirit of Embrace Abilities.
  • Growth & Engagement: Work with us to explore new ways to grow our followers and keep the community engaged through creative strategies.

Skills Needed:

  • Experience in social media management (Facebook, Instagram) for nonprofits or small businesses.
  • Proficiency in Canva to create bright, colorful, and eye-catching posts.
  • Strong sense of creativity and ability to design content that’s family-friendly and fun.
  • Excellent written communication skills for writing engaging captions.
  • Familiarity with building and maintaining a content calendar.

Bonus Skills (Nice to Have, But Not Required):

  • Experience using analytics tools to track engagement (Facebook Insights, Instagram Analytics).
  • Basic video editing for short clips or social media stories.
  • Knowledge of social media trends and strategies for growing engagement.
