Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Children’s Education Advisor (Ages 2-13) to join our team. In this role, you will provide expert guidance on the development of educational materials that cater to the literacy needs of children between the ages of 2 and 13. As a primary school teacher or educational specialist, you will ensure that the content we create aligns with developmental stages, learning outcomes, and local learning environments. Your input will be crucial in designing interactive, culturally inclusive, and engaging programs that encourage reading comprehension, vocabulary building, and critical thinking. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about children's education and eager to make a meaningful impact on young learners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise on the development of age-appropriate reading resources that align with the developmental stages and learning outcomes for children aged 2 to 13.
  • Collaborate with content creators to ensure educational materials resonate with the local context, are culturally inclusive, and engage children from diverse backgrounds.
  • Provide recommendations for interactive and engaging programs, including activities that support reading comprehension, vocabulary building, and critical thinking.
  • Review and evaluate educational content to ensure it meets literacy and learning objectives.
  • Suggest strategies and methods for integrating educational resources into early childhood and primary school learning environments.
  • Stay updated on best practices in children's literacy and education, applying these insights to the development of Book Bytes’ resources.
  • Work closely with the content and educational teams to ensure all materials are aligned with children's developmental and educational needs.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a primary school teacher or educational specialist, with a focus on children's literacy and learning.
  • In-depth knowledge of child development, educational best practices, and curriculum standards for children aged 2 to 13.
  • Experience in designing or advising on educational content, with a strong focus on reading and literacy.
  • Ability to create or review content that is culturally inclusive and resonates with diverse children in South Africa.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with content creators and other team members.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities in a dynamic environment.
  • Passion for children's education, literacy, and making a positive impact on young learners.
