Job Summary:

We are seeking a talented and creative Graphic Designer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing visual content for educational materials, including book covers, illustrations, and other design elements. You may also contribute to social media content, working closely with the Social Media Coordinator to ensure a cohesive and visually appealing presence across platforms. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about design and eager to use their skills to contribute to a mission-driven initiative.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design book covers, illustrations, and other visual content for educational materials that align with our mission and resonate with our target audience.
• Create engaging and visually appealing content for social media platforms, in collaboration with the Social Media Coordinator.
• Develop and maintain a consistent visual style across all materials, ensuring brand identity is upheld.
• Collaborate closely with the content creation team to ensure visual elements enhance the educational content and storytelling.
• Prepare design files for print and digital publication, ensuring high-quality output.
• Stay updated on design trends and tools, integrating new ideas to keep content fresh and relevant.
• Provide input on design strategies and contribute to the overall creative direction of the organization.
• Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality standards.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Graphic Designer, with a strong portfolio showcasing a range of design work, including book covers, illustrations, and digital content.
• Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) or similar tools.
• Strong understanding of design principles, typography, and color theory.
• Experience in creating content for both print and digital platforms.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing multiple projects and deadlines.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with team members, including the Social Media Coordinator.
• A creative thinker with a keen eye for detail and a passion for visual storytelling.
• Familiarity with the nonprofit sector and a passion for children’s literacy, education, and making a positive impact.
