Job Summary:

We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Software Quality Assurance (QA) Tester to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our mobile app through comprehensive testing. You will identify bugs, usability issues, and performance bottlenecks, and work closely with the development team to resolve them. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about software quality and eager to contribute to a mission-driven initiative.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for the Book Bytes mobile app.
  • Conduct functional, usability, performance, and regression testing to identify defects and ensure the app meets quality standards.
  • Work closely with the Lead Mobile App Developer and UI/UX Designer to understand the app’s features and requirements.
  • Identify, document, and track bugs and issues, providing detailed reports to the development team.
  • Verify bug fixes and ensure they do not introduce new issues.
  • Collaborate with the development team to improve the overall quality of the app.
  • Ensure the app functions seamlessly across different devices, operating systems, and platforms (iOS, Android, Google Play).
  • Stay updated on best practices in software testing and integrate them into our processes.
  • Provide regular updates to leadership on testing progress, issues identified, and overall app quality.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Software Quality Assurance Tester or similar role in mobile app testing.
  • Strong understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Experience with testing tools such as Selenium, Appium, JIRA, or similar.
  • Ability to create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases.
  • Familiarity with iOS and Android platforms and their respective testing requirements.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with developers and other team members.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple testing responsibilities.
  • Passion for children’s literacy, education, and making a positive impact.
