Job Summary:

We’re looking for a creative and strategic Public Relations (PR) Specialist (volunteer) to join our team. As a key member of Book Bytes: Tales That Spark, you’ll be responsible for shaping our public image, building a positive perception of our brand, and ensuring our message resonates effectively with our audience. This role is ideal for someone passionate about storytelling, media relations, and making a real impact through strategic communication.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement PR strategies that align with our mission and goals.
  • Manage and enhance our public image through effective communication across various media channels.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with media outlets, journalists, and influencers.
  • Create and distribute press releases, media kits, and other promotional materials.
  • Monitor and analyze media coverage to assess the effectiveness of PR campaigns.
  • Collaborate with the team to highlight events, initiatives, and success stories.
  • Stay updated on PR trends and incorporate best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in public relations, media relations, or a related field.
  • Strong writing and editing skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to craft compelling narratives that align with our mission.
  • Familiarity with media monitoring tools and PR software is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Passion for children’s literacy, education, and making a positive impact.
