Job Summary:

We’re looking for a creative and strategic social media coordinator (volunteer) to join our team. As a key member of Book Bytes: Tales That Spark, you’ll be responsible for crafting and executing social media campaigns that promote our mission to enhance children’s literacy in South Africa. This role is ideal for someone passionate about storytelling, digital engagement, and making a real impact through social media.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement social media strategies that align with our mission and goals.
  • Manage and grow our social media presence across platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
  • Create, curate, and schedule engaging content (posts, images, videos) that resonates with our target audience.
  • Monitor social media metrics and adjust strategies to improve engagement and reach.
  • Collaborate with the team to highlight events, initiatives, and success stories.
  • Stay updated on social media trends and incorporate best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in social media management or a related field.
  • Strong writing and editing skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Proficiency in using social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer).
  • Familiarity with graphic design tools like Canva or Adobe Spark is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Passion for children’s literacy, education, and making a positive impact.
