Position Overview: We are seeking a distinguished Strategic Planning Advisor with a Doctorate degree to guide and enhance our strategic planning efforts. This role will be crucial in shaping the future direction of IFWF, ensuring that our programs and initiatives align with our mission and achieve our long-term goals.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Development: Lead the development and implementation of IFWF’s strategic plan, including setting long-term goals, objectives, and key performance indicators.
- Assessment and Analysis: Conduct comprehensive assessments of current programs and initiatives, identifying strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT) to inform strategic decisions.
- Planning and Execution: Oversee the strategic planning process, ensuring that plans are actionable, measurable, and aligned with IFWF’s mission and values.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with senior leadership, board members, and other stakeholders to gather input, build consensus, and drive strategic initiatives forward.
- Performance Monitoring: Develop and implement systems for monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of strategic initiatives, providing regular reports and recommendations for improvement.
- Research and Trends: Stay abreast of trends and best practices in nonprofit management, strategic planning, and relevant fields to ensure that IFWF remains at the forefront of industry standards.
- Advisory Role: Provide expert advice and guidance on complex strategic issues, offering innovative solutions and recommendations to enhance organizational effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- Education: Doctorate degree in Strategic Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: Extensive experience in strategic planning, organizational development, or management consulting, preferably within the nonprofit sector.
- Skills: Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills. Strong ability to develop and execute strategic plans and communicate complex ideas effectively.
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of strategic planning processes, nonprofit management, and industry best practices.
- Attributes: Highly motivated, visionary thinker with a passion for advancing IFWF’s mission. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote setting.

The mission of IFWF is to protect the basic human rights of civil society and victims of war and armed conflicts. We advocate for safe resettlement of immigrants and their families and provide protection for those who seek harbor in fear of life and persecution.
Description
It is evident IFWF continues to play a vital role in the lives of low-and no-income immigrants and refugees in providing these essential resources. However, we also acknowledge that in order to achieve our mission, we must provide other services outside of our current scope. It is exceedingly difficult for immigrants in the US to gain knowledge about personal finance, especially considering barriers such as language or inability to access online resources. IFWF seeks to bridge this information gap by creating a Financial Literacy course specifically geared towards immigrants and refugees.
The course is provided in basic English and is translated to the official languages of the United Nations. The course is accessible online, and students learn upfront where they can access course materials for free. The course topics include, but are not limited to, budgeting, opening a bank account, electronic transactions, understanding credit and maintaining good credit, filing taxes, and savings. Each lesson has practical goals that students meet as they progress through the course. After the course, students understand their financial situation and are equipped to responsibly handle their personal finances.
We also develop courses in personal finance for our partner organizations and other groups.
