Special Olympics Oregon wants YOU to be the next the Multnomah County Local Program Coordinator! Be a part of our global community of athletes, volunteers, and fans by becoming a Special Olympics Oregon Local Program Management Team Member!
We are currently seeking a seasonal volunteer to assume the role of Local Program Coordinator that contributes to organizing and coordinating special events and fundraisers that promote SOOR athletes in our SOOR Milton-Freewater Local Program.
- Promote the mission, philosophy, policies & procedures of Special Olympics Oregon
- Recruit and manage the Local Program Management team.
- Serve as the primary contact for your Local Program
- Assist and train each Local Program management team member as needed.
- Ensure funds are raised and finances are recorded appropriately according to Special Olympics Oregon’s policies & procedures.
- Perform duties that may be assigned by Program & Coach Services Director
- Effectively communicate to all athletes, volunteers, family members and public
- Arrange & conduct management team Meetings.

The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for all children and adults with Intellectual Disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other athletes and the community.
Description
Special Olympics Oregon provides year-round opportunities for children and adults with Intellectual Disabilities to participate in sports training and competition. All Special Olympics coaches, assistant coaches and management members are volunteers.
