Mothers and Autism Meetup (MAAM) is a nonprofit organization passionate about serving families with children on the autism spectrum. Our programs offer vital resources, educational support, and advocacy training to help mothers navigate their journey. We host inclusive community events that promote awareness, acceptance, and peer understanding. MAAM is dedicated to creating a positive impact on the lives of families by providing a space for connection and empowerment. Role Overview:

The volunteer Program Coordinator will work closely together with Executive Director to oversee the planning and execution of MAAM’s activities on a part-time basis. This role involves organizing program workshops, coordinating parent support group sessions, and ensuring the programs are effectively delivery to meet the needs the community.

Responsibilities:

Program Coordination:

- Plan and coordinate the program schedules and monthly parent support sessions.

- Manage logistics for programs and monthly parent support sessions, including recruiting, scheduling, confirming location, and material preparation (if any).

- Ensure smooth operation of programs and parents support sessions.

- Track participate progress and engagement, ensuring they meet program milestones.

Event Support:

- Create a schedule for 2025 upcoming events, including location, times, vendors.

- Ensure volunteer support is in place.

Administrative Duties:

- Maintain accurate records of program activities, attendance, and participant outcomes.

- Prepare reports on program performance and participant feedback.

Qualifications:

- Have or pursuing bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Public Administration, Project Management Certification or a related field.

- Experience in program coordination, educational or youth development settings is preferred.

- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience working with diverse populations.

- Passion for about serving the families and caregiver in the community that has been affected by autism.

Time Commitment:

- Approximately 10 hours per week, with flexibility depending on program needs.

- Availability for occasional evening workshops and weekend events as required.

Dedicated to helping mothers with school-age children on the autism spectrum. We equip them with educational, financial, and community resources. We provide children with opportunities to break social barriers through community events. This will help mothers to advocate effectively, while teaching our children about peer awareness and acceptance.

Description

Founded in 2023, Mothers And Autism Meetup has been committed to supporting families with children who have been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. Initially established to create a supportive and safe environment for caregivers to share their experience, we have grown to address the diverse needs of target population. MAAM envisioned a supportive environment where focus on educational, and today, that vision continues to guide our work. Stress to Strength- Autism Parenting and Self-Care: Aimed at strength the support of caregiver, this transformative program provides strategies to effective in-home therapy, effective communication, behavioral challenges, understanding IEP's, building a self-care awareness. We have positively impacted 20 families through our programs and services. Through our Colorful Connection Autism Fest were able to connect 98 individuals with resources, while providing a day of fun and celebration. Our goal is to expand our targeted population in the tri-city area of Richmond, create more sensory-friendly activities for the children, as well as building a supportive team that can help support families in different capacity.
