The American Cancer Society Road To Recovery program has volunteer drivers who donate their time and vehicle to help cancer patients with limited or no transportation get to treatments. A local Volunteer Coordinator is needed to:
- Answer questions from local drivers
- Welcome area new drivers
- Reach out to current drivers who are not providing rides
- Help recruit additional drivers
The amount of time required can be as little or as much as you want to put into it. As I mentioned, if you are interested in only parts of the role, that would work also.
Driver training is required, but driving is not required. Training, background check and a comfort with technology is required.
