Pathways Healthcare is looking for compassionate volunteers to provide support and companionship to hospice patients. Patients may be located in their own homes, nursing facilities or other locations.

Hospice volunteers provide companionship through friendly visits, listening to music, watching sports, pet visits, writing letters and simple conversation. Sharing your interests and passions is always welcome! Veterans are highly appreciated when they visit veterans in hospice care. A few hours a week can make a big difference to a patient and their families!

You may volunteer1-3 hours per week, based on your availability. No experience is required .

Description

Hospice Volunteers are an integral part of the Interdisciplinary team consisting of a medical director, nurses, therapists, social workers, chaplains and home health aides. Volunteer roles consist of direct patient visits at home, reading, music, pet therapy, reiki, veteran recognition, and other administrative duties. Hospice volunteers find their work emotionally meaningful and gratifying. The volunteer opportunity is extremely flexible based on the volunteers' location and schedule; volunteers are valued members of our hospice care team.
