Lake Minnetonka Shores is looking for several volunteer library aids in support of it's amazing library.

Responsibilities :

• Shelve returned books .

• Sort donated books per library best practices .

• Process new books and shelve them accordingly .

• Straighten shelves and library area as needed .

• Alphabetize books within assigned sections.

• Remove (weed) books from assigned sections as needed.

• Work with library committee members in promoting campus library and its services through educational events.

Qualifications/Skills/Requirements:

• Must be able to physically handle and shelve books .

• Be able to alphabetize and sort collection to keep it fresh & updated .

• Be a team player working with a variety of personalities and age groups.

• A knowledge of books and authors is helpful.

Time Commitment/Hours:

• Commitment of time is flexible according to workload . Need to be able to make at least a weekly commitment of time for maintaining specific assigned shelf area. ( 30 + minutes weekly ) .

• Attend Quarterly Library Committee meeting (1 - 2 hours) .

Reports to: Volunteer Director

Training and/or Support Provided:

• General volunteer orientation

• On the job training provided by other library committee volunteers.
