Provide administratie support and share leadership reponsibilities with current Chair, during two-year term. Serve as member of the Steering Committee. Work with the team of Officers, Outdoor Leaders, and agency partners in the commuunity to know and assist the the scope of leadership responsibilities of this organization. Step in as acting chair ias needed. Potential to be nominated as a future chair.
Experience with or willingness to learn to be trained and certified at Outings Leader, outings organizer. Also volunteer recruitment, public speaking, trainer, agency liaison, fund raiser and other duties, as needed. Interest in and/or experience in environmental education for children and youth required

Las Vegas ICO--Inspiring Connections Outdoors introduces urban youth to the natural outdoor world so that they may forge a meaningful bond with nature and learn to appreciate its wonder and understand the need to protect it.
Las Vegas ICO--Inspiring Connections Outdoors, is a volunteer outreach program of the Sierra Club, provides nature outings and wilderness experiences for underserved urban youth in the Las Vegas area. Volunteer leaders work in cooperation with community agencies and schools to provide safe and enjoyable outdoor experiences to young people who, otherwise, might not have them. ICO is seeking volunteer hike leaders as diverse as the youth we serve. We are also seeking members of the support team for leaders, including managing paperwork and recruitment of leaders among people of color representative of our typical youth participants. At this time we are preparing to restart post-Covid precautions as local conditions improve.
