Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated volunteer attorney with experience in residential and commercial real estate transactions to support our Collaborative Community Housing Initiative(CCHI). The ideal candidate will provide legal guidance and expertise to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, assist in drafting and reviewing contracts, and facilitate negotiations related to housing projects. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on community development and inclusive housing for people with disabilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal advice on real estate transactions and regulatory compliance.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, leases, and other legal documents.
  • Assist in navigating zoning laws and land use regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active bar membership in good standing.
  • Experience in real estate law
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to community service and affordable housing initiatives.
  • Must live in Chicago area
