Searching for a volunteer based in San Francisco to support our VA program!
Be a friendly Red Cross face supporting veterans at the San Francisco VA clinic. VAVS volunteers ensure that we are providing a consistent American Red Cross presence for programs at the VA clinic at VA and Red Cross specific events. Volunteers are the subject matter expert for all SAF programs, and should be comfortable talking about Red Cross programs in general and SAF programs specifically.
Requirements:
Staffing the Red Cross coffee cart at the clinic, making coffee and ensuring we have adequate supplies
Staffing the Red Cross booth at the VA farmers market
Help run Red Cross VA activities such as movie night
Run general errands, as needs and demands of hospital staff and patients
Note: volunteers will need to be trained, background checked, and onboarded by the VA as well as ARC
Training can take up to 6 months
Ideal for anyone:
· Committed to representing the Red Cross at the highest standard
· Able to provide impeccable customer service
· Committed to providing a positive experience to veterans and their families
· Reliable, and able to take initiative in providing support
· Able to commit to at least one regular shift per week for at least 6 months
· Available during the weekday
