Searching for prospective volunteers based in the San Francisco Bay Area that are interested in gaining exposure in recruitment. Great opportunity to build skills, be a part of a community, and network. Target Counties: San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, and Monterey Time Commitment: 2-3 hours per week Position Type: Volunteer This is a hybrid position. Working remote and attending in person events. The ideal candidate will be comfortable meeting new people frequently and creating a recruitment network. They should have excellent organizational skills in order to build and maintain a pipeline of prospective candidates. Help recruit new volunteers by planning, facilitating, and participating in community events such as college fairs, health fairs, presentations, and etc. Responsibilities Develop and execute recruitment strategies Conduct interviews via phone, online meeting (Microsoft Teams), or in-person Qualify or reject candidates based on interview feedback and resume reviews Serve as point of contact for questions Attend in-person events and/or online recruitment events Contact prospective volunteers via calls and emails Ideal for someone with: Effective communication skills Strong organizational and interpersonal skills Experience working with Microsoft Office suite Available during weekdays, evenings, or weekends

Counties: San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, and Monterey Description: Manage media inquiries at assigned Red Cross service delivery site, including requests for client and/or volunteer interviews in coordination with the on-call PA officer. Respond on scene 24/7 to help provide PA support for incidents that meet PA triggers Greet the media, who are on-site covering the disaster, and provide them with timely, accurate information about Red Cross services being provided and available to victims. Most of the 60,000 emergencies that the Red Cross responds to each year are local, personal disasters like home fires. Disaster Action Teams (DAT) provide emotional support, financial assistance, and information to help families begin the process of recovery. Disaster Action Team (DAT) Specialists respond to local disasters and provide immediate compassion and care to clients. Responsibilities DAT/SP-specific Responsibilities: Works as part of an assigned team to respond to local disasters within established timelines defined in the Disaster Action Team Program Standards & Procedures. Maintains regular communication with Duty Officer and other members of the team while assigned to an event to ensure continuity and safety. Provides care, comfort, and compassion to clients (in accordance with Red Cross standards and procedures). Works with on-scene DAT SV/MN to assess whether additional resources/support are required and communicates those needs to DAT Leadership. Completes second responder confirmations in RC Care, the client case management system. Attends regularly scheduled team/DAT meetings as required by Chapter/Region. Maintains RC Care Intake Trainee user access. General Responsibilities for all Specialists: Ensure that work is carried out in alignment with our fundamental principles and within established guidelines . Maintain flexibility in a continuously changing environment in which work priorities may change frequently . Collaborate effectively with others in a disaster environment . Work independently while following the direction of the direct supervisor . Time Commitment DAT calls can happen at any time of the day or night. When called upon, the volunteer has the option to respond or not. Preferred commitment on-call 1 shift/week. Reliable access to a cell phone (with ability to receive text messages), laptop or computer. Be available to respond reliably to local disasters during assigned shifts in RC Respond, the DAT scheduling system, and communicate scheduling conflicts with DAT Leadership. Must sign up for the minimum number of required shifts per month as determined by the region. Able to follow Red Cross DAT and other related standards and procedures. Commitment to use and maintain user access to RC Care and RC Respond systems as needed. Able to work in challenging and stressful conditions such as poor air quality, uneven ground, adverse weather, etc. Must be 18 years or older. Must have a valid driver's license and/or a timely, reliable way to get to a disaster scene. Provide Follow up and Recovery Planning Services, including referrals, for individuals and households following regional events - primarily home fires. Responsibilities Conduct follow-up for clients within 72 hours of case being opened by Disaster Action Team or Caseworker. May also conduct Intake and provide Financial Assistance to qualified clients if case was not opened by DAT Conduct Follow-up and Recovery Planning Services Provide Internal Referrals and External Referrals. Assist with problem-solving and advocacy upon request Use RC Care to document services according to the Client Care Program Standards and Procedures and RC Care Job Tools. Services may be provided in person or virtually. Work with community recovery partners to plan for community recovery needs and long-term recovery activities. May also have a REC/CARE/SA GAP in addition to steady state role. Time Commitment Min. of 4 hrs/week. Provide spiritual care support to individuals and families who have been impacted by a disaster. Assist disaster clients to utilize their own spiritual resources, values and faith during crisis, regardless of one's faith tradition. Facilitate long-term recovery for clients by providing spiritual and emotional support, and connection to local resources. We are looking for: An endorsed leader of a local faith community, a professional or Board-certified chaplain (paid or unpaid), or a disaster spiritual care provider from a National VOAD member organization.
