Job Summary:
The Grant Writer will be responsible for researching, writing, and submitting grant proposals to secure funding from various sources, including foundations, corporations, and government agencies. The ideal candidate will have excellent writing skills, a strong understanding of grant writing processes, and the ability to convey our organization’s mission and impact effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research & Identification: Identify potential funding opportunities and develop a strategic plan for approaching various funders.
- Proposal Development: Write compelling grant proposals and applications, including narratives, budgets, and supporting documents, tailored to each funder's requirements.
- Reporting: Track grant application progress and prepare timely and accurate reports for funders, outlining project outcomes and financial expenditures.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the executive team to gather necessary information and ensure alignment between proposals and organizational goals.
- Documentation & Record Keeping: Maintain organized records of grant proposals, reports, and correspondence.
- Grant Management: Monitor grant compliance requirements and deadlines, ensuring that all conditions are met and reporting is submitted on time.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Proven experience in grant writing in a non-profit setting. Experience with government and foundation grants is a plus.
- Skills: Exceptional writing, editing, and research skills with the ability to craft clear, persuasive, and detailed proposals.
- Knowledge: Understanding of grant application processes, funder requirements, and compliance regulations.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with a diverse team.
- Organization: Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Non-Profit Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
