Our hospice is looking to build a group of sewing enthusiasts to use their skill to make memory teddy bears for our bereft families.
Losing a loved-one one is never easy. Sometimes have something from the departed can be of comfort. This project converts articles of clothing from the deceased into a special, unique keepsake that is huggable when feelings of longing are strong.
If you can sew, please consider sharing your talents for our families.
We will train you in this pattern, but you should already know how to sew. If you are comfortable with the skills needed to make sleeves than you are appropriate for this project.
Also, this is a sewing machine-based project.
Aside from having time to make a bear a month, which is about 15 hours or less, you should be able to attend monthly meetings to pick-up and drop-off projects.
The initial group should start in September 2024.
Apply to this post if interested and details can be explained then.
