Are you passionate about helping transgender, nonbinary, and gender-diverse (trans+) people thrive and live free of hate and discrimination?
Join TRACTION's Project Open Arms as a Resource Data Wrangler and make a real difference in the lives of people seeking a fresh start in sanctuary states.
Open Arms serves as a referral network for "red state refugees" to find organizations, agencies, providers, and other resources that respect and humbly serve trans+ people of all ages. We are based in Washington State but network nationwide.
What you'll do as a resource data wrangler:
Support trans+ people who are under attack in hostile U.S. states in their goal to relocate to trans-affirming sanctuary U.S. states.
Research, identify, and validate trans-allied resources. These may be very specific in nature, depending on the participant's need. Types of resources might include:
- Gender-affirming and reproductive healthcare
- Affordable housing options
- Job opportunities
- ID alignment and legal aid
- Community and peer support networks
- Mutual aid and local support services
We're looking for volunteers who:
- Share TRACTION’s core values (https://tractionpnw.org/our-traction-values/)
- Understand trans+ people’s lived experiences and needs
- Have some knowledge of existing trans+ resources and services
- Have strong research and communication skills
- Are curious, detail-oriented, and organized
- Can dedicate 5-10 virtual hours per week
No prior experience is necessary. Bring your enthusiasm and dedication to supporting people through service. Join our team of volunteers and help build a stronger community.
Data Wranglers must be at least 16 years of age.
