Are you passionate about helping transgender, nonbinary, and gender-diverse (trans+) people thrive and live free of hate and discrimination? Join TRACTION’s Project Open Arms as a Resource Navigator and make a real difference in the lives of people seeking a fresh start in sanctuary states. Open Arms serves as a referral network for "red state refugees" to find organizations, agencies, providers, and other resources that respect and humbly serve trans+ people of all ages. We are based in Washington State but network nationwide. What you’ll do as a resource navigator: Support trans+ people who are under attack in hostile U.S. states in their goal to relocate to trans-affirming sanctuary U.S. states. Connect or refer relocating trans+ folks to vital resources such as: Gender-affirming and reproductive healthcare Affordable housing options Job opportunities ID alignment and legal aid Community and peer support networks Mutual aid and local support services Research additional resources based on the contact’s needs Provide compassionate guidance throughout the relocation process We’re looking for volunteers who: Share TRACTION’s core values, including anti-racism Understand trans+ people’s lived experiences and needs Have some knowledge of existing trans+ resources and services Have strong research and communication skills Enjoy talking to people Can dedicate 5-10 virtual hours per week Are empathetic, patient, and committed to our community’s well-being No prior experience is necessary. Bring your enthusiasm and dedication to supporting people through service. Join our team of volunteers and help build a stronger community. Navigators must be at least 18 years of age.

Open Arms serves as a referral network for "red state refugees" to find organizations, agencies, providers, and other resources that respect and humbly serve trans+ people of all ages. We are based in Washington State but network nationwide. What you'll do as a resource data wrangler: Support trans+ people who are under attack in hostile U.S. states in their goal to relocate to trans-affirming sanctuary U.S. states. Research, identify, and validate trans-allied resources. These may be very specific in nature, depending on the participant's need. Types of resources might include: Gender-affirming and reproductive healthcare Affordable housing options Job opportunities ID alignment and legal aid Community and peer support networks Mutual aid and local support services We're looking for volunteers who: Share TRACTION’s core values (https://tractionpnw.org/our-traction-values/) Understand trans+ people’s lived experiences and needs Have some knowledge of existing trans+ resources and services Have strong research and communication skills Are curious, detail-oriented, and organized Can dedicate 5-10 virtual hours per week No prior experience is necessary. Description
We are a trans-led nonprofit service organization . Through social engagement, outreach, and service, we aim to empower and uplift our community and promote trans+ acceptance and celebration.
TRACTION collaborates with existing groups and agencies to extend its support to underserved populations. We provide boots-on-the-ground volunteer power, publicity and signal boosting, technical assistance, and, in some cases, modest funding support.
