ORGANIZATION: ALS Northwest

VOLUNTEER TASKS:

We are looking for a volunteer(s) in/or around Portland, OR who is available on a regular & ongoing basis to support a Person living with ALS with yard work and gardening.

SCHEDULE:

Availability may fluctuate, but generally regular assistance for 2-3 hours Every Other Week on an ongoing basis.

TRAINING:
You do not need to have prior knowledge or experience to volunteer in this role. After onboarding, you will be thoroughly trained on volunteer policies and best practices through an orientation with our Volunteer Coordinator.

Description

ALS Northwest is committed to enhancing the quality of life of people living with ALS through the many cost-free programs we offer to individuals and families affected by ALS. We understand the value of those with the disease being able to communicate, function safely in their home, and travel to ALS Clinics for comprehensive evaluation and treatment. Our programs are designed to meet these essential care needs as well as the emotional needs of those in our community and caregivers. Our services are available to people with ALS in the entire State of Oregon and six counties of SW Washington: Pacific, Wahkiakum, Cowlitz, Clark, Skamania, and Klickitat.
