Are you looking for a fun and active volunteering role, with the opportunity to try new activities outdoors & indoors whilst supporting the young people in your community? This could be for you! We are looking for adult volunteers to help run several of the sections at 9th Southampton Scout group. They include volunteering with; Squirrels our 4 - 6 year olds on Thursdays from 5:00 - 6:00pm Beavers our 6 - 8 year olds on Mondays from 6.00 - 7.30pm Cubs our 8 - 10.5 year olds on Wednesdays from 6.30 - 8.15pm Scouts or 10.5 - 14 year olds on Tuesdays 7:00 - 9:00pm Our regular sessions take place during term time. Activities vary from den building, arts & crafts, cooking, hiking, camping, archery and various games. Some activities carried out will be working towards earning badges whilst other tasks will be just for fun. There will be some essential training to undertake that is mainly online learning in addition to carrying out a DBS check. On going training will also be provided and the opportunity to earn qualifications in some skilled activities if of interest. If you would like to support young people in your community to learn skills for life and would like to know more please get in touch and let us know which age section you're interested in. Whatever time you can offer we can be flexible in our approach to volunteering.
We are looking for a team of adult volunteers to engage and inspire our young people. You will be a confident communicator who is able to work as part of a team. No previous scouting experience is needed. Training and support will be given. Key skills are: Organised, Team Player, Confident communicator
