Do you enjoy experiencing new adventures? Do you have free time that you'd like to fill with lending a hand in your community? If you answered yes to either of these, then look no further.

SCCM is looking for fill-in volunteers to help fill spots when someone is out due to illness, vacation, or a conflicting schedule.

This means that you may be trained in multiple roles including:

  • Warehouse- Albemarle- accept donations, sort and stock items on shelves, prepare food boxes, light cleaning, etc.
  • Pantry- Norwood or Albemarle- assist clients with their shopping needs, prepare boxes of food for client's monthly allowance by weight, assist clients in getting their food to their cars, light cleaning, etc.
  • Clothing Closet- Albemarle- bring in and sort through donated items, hang, price, and place items on showroom floor, take unsellable items to the "mish" truck, light cleaning, etc.
  • Community Table- Norwood and Albemarle- prepare daily lunches, fill cups with tea and water, pass out boxes and drinks to clients at the door, light cleaning, etc.

All of these locations are in need of fill-ins. If you are interested in only 1 location, that's ok, complete the application and state which location you prefer. Maybe you'd like to only fill in in 2 locations, also fine, complete the application and state where you'd prefer to be.

We are flexible, kind, generous, and we enjoy having fun. We would love to make you a part of our team. Please feel free to reach out with any questions you may have regarding our volunteer opportunities.

About STANLY COMMUNITY CHRISTIAN MINISTRY INC

Location:

506 S First St, PO Box 58, ALBEMARLE, NC 28002, US

Mission Statement

Answering the call to share Christ's love, Stanly Community Christian Ministry provides assistance and support to our neighbors in need.

Description

We love our neighbors. We believe we are called to love people through their difficult situations. Each of us can admit we have received support in some way from family, friends, or an agency like Stanly Community Christian Ministry. Our agency is here to share love with those who have found themselves in emergency situations and need assistance with food or financial support for their rent, utility bills, or prescriptions.

In addition to reducing food insecurity in our county, we also assist our clients who require financial assistance. Our agency works to reduce homelessness by helping eligible individuals with rent and utility payments. When funds allow, we're also able to assist with prescription expenses.

Stanly Community Christian Ministry, Inc. (SCCM) is a partner agency of Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina (SHFBM). SHFBM partners and distributes food and essential grocery items to approximately 550 hunger-feeding agencies in 19 counties in North and South Carolina. Agencies served include emergency pantries, soup kitchens, senior programs, shelters, and low-income daycares.
