AmeriCorps Seniors gives you the opportunity to put your life skills to good use and make a positive impact in the Greater Lowell area through Community Teamwork’s three programs: Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP); Foster Grandparent Program (FGP); and Senior Companion Program (SCP).RSVP connects individuals aged 55 and over with local non-profits to assist them with achieving their missions.Foster Grandparents are placed with children in preschool and school-age programs. They assist children who need extra help and attention in developing and improving skills to thrive. Senior Companions provide assistance and friendship to older adults who have difficulty with daily living tasks, such as shopping or paying bills.

CTI's Mission is to assist low-income people to become self-sufficient, to alleviate the effects of poverty, and to assist low-income people to participate in the decisions that affect their lives.

Description

CTI is a private, non-profit Community Action Agency and Regional Housing Agency offering an array of housing and supportive services to low-income families and individuals. Established in 1965, CTI’s core service area is the Greater Lowell area consisting of the city of Lowell and the seven surrounding towns of Billerica, Chelmsford, Dracut, Dunstable, Tewksbury, Tyngsboro, and Westford. The agency is organized into a Division structure with related programs falling under each of its four Divisions. These include the Division of Child and Family Services, Housing and Homelessness Services, Energy and Community Resources. CTI is governed by 24-member Board of Directors comprised of equal numbers of low-income people, public officials, and representatives of the private sector. Community Teamwork, Inc. (CTI) served 32,016 individuals and 12,959 families last year. Our clients are low-income people, many of whom are homeless and in need of assistance in the re-housing process. In the Housing Consumer Education Center where this program will be sited, 7.372 households were served in FY12 and 7,192 households were served in FY13 to date.
