We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Remote Adoption Coordinator Assistant. This volunteer position plays a crucial role in supporting our adoption coordination efforts, helping connect animals in need with loving homes. As an Assistant, you will work closely with our Adoption Coordinator to facilitate the adoption process and ensure a smooth experience for both adopters and animals.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in screening adoption applications and conducting initial interviews with potential adopters.
  • Assist in organizing virtual and in person home visits, meet-and-greet sessions, adoption appointments and follow-ups, ensuring all necessary paperwork and processes are completed.
  • Communicate effectively with potential adopters, providing information about available animals, adoption requirements, and procedures.

  • Update adoption records and maintain accurate documentation of adoption activities.
  • Collaborate with other team members to promote animals available for adoption through online platforms and social media channels.
  • Utilize shelter software Animals First to review applications, adoption contracts, animals and potential adopters.
  • Communicate with fosters to gain more information and photos of animals up for adoption.

Qualifications:

  • Passion for animal welfare and commitment to promoting responsible pet ownership.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
  • Experience with customer service or administrative tasks is preferred but not required.

Time Commitment:

  • 3-5 hours per week, with flexibility based on your availability.
  • This position is remote, allowing you to contribute from anywhere with internet access.
