The Operations Management (OM) Service to the Armed Forces (SAF) Liaison is an operational position and is assigned temporarily as a member of the leadership team for Disaster Relief Operations (DRO) Level V and above.
This role reports to the Deputy DRO Director and serves as the primary spokesperson for Service to the Armed Forces on the operation. Staff assigned to this position assist through effective communication and coordination with military installations and Veterans Affairs (VA) facilities and personnel in the impacted area. The Operations Management SAF Liaison serves as the strategic link between the DRO and key military and VA personnel in the disaster-affected area.
OM//SAF-specific Responsibilities:
· Serves as the primary spokesperson for Service to the Armed Forces on DRO Level V and above operations when activated.
· Servies as the strategic link between the DRO and key military and VA personnel in the disaster-affected area.
· Establishes relationships and consistent, regular contact with Division/regional SAF staff, military and VA personnel, and other appropriate stakeholders to monitor and verify emergent issues and perceived resourcing needs.
· Maintain a collaborative and coordinated relationship to the Assistant Director of External Relations (OM/ER/AD) and the Elected Official Liaison Network (EOLN) Chief.
· Maintains a dotted-line reporting relationship with the SAF/IS Division Director in the disaster-affected area.
