This position supports the Division (DIV) Volunteer Services department. This is a 100% virtual (volunteer-from-home) opportunity. The Divisional Volunteer Relations Lead works with the Divisional Volunteer Service Executive (DVSE) and Regional Volunteer Services to support and document the region in managing complaints, as well as managing cases that are escalated beyond the supervisor.
- Implements corporate Red Cross Human Resources and Office of Volunteer Services policies and procedures.
- Serves as a subject matter expert and coach on volunteer relations issues.
- Explains appropriate Red Cross policies and procedures as related to Volunteer Relations during Steady State, including utilization of Regional Volunteer Workforce Complaint Toolkit materials to all supervisors (employees and volunteer).
- Provides confidential mediator support to regions as appropriate
- Conducts appropriate investigation, documentation, and resolution when complaint involves a volunteer.
- Coordinates with and supports Regional Volunteer Services of complaints to which they manage the investigation.
- Manage ongoing communication to include, answering questions, holding trainings and/or calls to encourage best practice sharing, etc.
- Supports VS in drafting additional tools and resources to promote a fair and harassment-free environment.
- Recommends appropriate Training for supervisors of volunteers
- Actively participate in monthly conference calls of the NHQ VS Volunteer Relations Team.
- In partnership with DVSE/RVSO follow established process for tracking and reporting of volunteer HR issues handled within the region.
- Qualifications
REQUIRED:
- Reliable access to resources needed to volunteer 100% virtually
- Experience with conflict management or mediation
- Ability to work in confidential situations
- Ability to assess, investigate, resolve, notify Volunteer HR matters in a timely manner when a situation arises
- Willingness to comply with current public health and Red Cross policies
- Must reside either in AZ,NM,CO,WY,TX,LA,UT,NV,MO,AR,KS,OK
