We are looking for a Grant Writer to join our team and lead our efforts in securing funding to help our organization operate throughout the year. Our Grant Writer’s responsibilities include researching grant opportunities, writing compelling grant proposals to acquire funding, and working with our leadership team to ensure we have enough capital each year. Ultimately, you will work with our leadership team to understand our financial needs and ensure we attain funding.
Duties:
Assist with the execution of the development department’s strategy
Identify grant funding opportunities
Write, submit, and manage grant proposals
Furnish prospective funders with supporting documents
Collaborate with the Executive Director to send grant proposals
Collaborate with the Executive Director to compile an annual report
Skills & Qualifications:
Proven work experience as a Grant Writer or similar position
Proficient with measuring and reaching income goals
Great with MS Office Word and Excel and/or G Suite
Excellent knowledge of fundraising information sources
Exceptional organizational and writing skills
Detail-oriented, self-motivated
Excellent time management
Bachelor’s degree in creative writing or related field

Opal's Heart, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) all-volunteer, non-profit organization based in Prince George's County, MD, that provides Care Bags to the Metropolitan DC area to the unhoused community in need. This organization was created to fulfill a passion in the Executive Director's heart: to help out in every way possible to those in need.
