We are looking for volunteers to serve on the nenos Inc. Board of Directors. This opportunity is virtual and will require 5-7 hours of time commitment annually.
nenos is a startup social media nonprofit corporation (pending 501[c][3] status) based in Tampa, Florida. Our mission is amplifying local voices and fostering authentic connections through our platform, empowering individuals to shape vibrant communities and drive positive change.
Our Board of Directors is responsible for providing oversight, accountability, and direction to the corporation. Primary responsibilities and duties include:
- Determine the mission and vision of nenos Inc.
- Oversee our strategic development
- Measure and monitor performance, outcomes, and impact
- Review and approve annual budgets and financial performance
- Select, evaluate, and determine the compensation of CEO
- Recruit and onboard new Board members
- Set fundraising strategies and initiatives
- Review nenos branding and outreach strategy
- Provide oversight over investment, financial, risk management, tax, and legal matters
- Review Board and governance structure, policies, and practices
- Learning about our strategy, programs, planning processes, and financial statements
- Preparing for Board and committee meetings (1 per quarter)
- Attending at least 75% of Board and committee meetings and other Board activities
- Serving on at least one Board committee (Governance, Ethics, or Finance/Audit)
- Contributing to the Board’s functioning, including assuming leadership positions
- Supporting fundraising activities (Directors are NOT required to financially contribute)
- Complying with our conflict of interest, annual disclosure, and other policies
