Description of position:
Join the volunteer team for the Northwest Oregon District (Bureau of Land Management). Northwest Oregon District strives to find motivated individuals looking to provide better opportunities for the public. From the east to west the District stretches from the crest of the Cascades to the Pacific Ocean. The District manages its forest for recreation, wildlife, lumber production, and more. Sightseeing, camping, hiking, boating, hunting, fishing, cutting firewood, and collecting mushrooms are just a few of the activities the public enjoys on BLM lands.
Clay Clay Creek Recreation Site is nestled in the Coast Range of Oregon between Eugene and the Oregon coast at an elevation of 436-492 feet. Located at the confluence of Clay Creek and the Siuslaw River, this recreation site offers a wealth of activities including forest hiking, fishing, wildlife viewing, picnicking, and camping. The Springfield Office of the Northwest Oregon District of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) manages the Clay Creek Recreation Site.
Clay Creek offers 21 individual campsites to accommodate 32 feet of RV, truck and trailer, or tents. Most sites contain fire ring, barbeque grill, picnic table, and tent pad. In addition, the site contains vault toilets, River access for swimming, individual picnic sites, a children’s play area, horseshoe pits, potable water, volleyball area (bring your net and ball), and a ball field.
We are looking for a couple or an individual to serve as campground host at Whittaker Creek Recreation Site. The position is for a minimum of two months (May 30 th through September 30 th ) with the possibility of being extended through the full season. The host site has an RV pad, picnic area, fire ring, sewer hookup and water available. We do not have power,phone or internet at this time.

Requirements:
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who likes to meet people of all ages and backgrounds, loves working with people, and enjoys variety in their days. The ideal candidate must be comfortable working with people of all ages and abilities and have strong communication skills. The volunteer will be working without daily supervision and must be self-motivated.
