Haley House uses food with purpose and the power of community to break down barriers between people, empower individuals, and strengthen neighborhoods. We believe in radical solutions: solving problems at their root by challenging attitudes that perpetuate suffering and building alternative models. Since 1967, we have offered healthy, made-from-scratch, breakfast to homeless and/or food insecure people. In our kitchen, home cooked meals bring stranger together and foster friendship and meaningful community!
As a Food Pantry Volunteer, you will help with grocery bag distribution for the food pantry.
This is an in-person role averaging 2 hours once a week, on Thursdays. 9am - 10:30 am.
Every Thursday, we offer bags of groceries to food insecure people in and around the South End. Anticipated tasks include; organizing and bagging groceries, breaking down cardboard, interacting with guests, unloading food and supplies to bring into Haley House, clean up and more.

Mission Statement
HUNGER FREE AMERICA is a national nonprofit group building a nonpartisan, grassroots membership movement to enact the policies and programs needed to end domestic hunger and ensure that all Americans have sufficient access to nutritious food.
Description
HUNGER FREE AMERICA (formerly known as the New York City Coalition Against Hunger) is a national nonprofit group building a nonpartisan, grass-roots membership movement to enact the policies and programs needed to end domestic hunger and ensure that all Americans have sufficient access to nutritious food.
Our long-term goal is not just to ameliorate the problem, but also to build the people’s movement necessary to enact the economic and public policies needed to end hunger entirely. Given that hunger drains our economy and tears at our moral and civic fabric, we know that eliminating it will boost the nation both economically and spiritually. Towards that end, we’ve adopted the motto: "Ending hunger lifts us all."
