The Department Coordinator will play a vital role in supporting The Medica Zone’s Content Creation Department. Working closely with the department Director and interns, the Coordinator will ensure smooth operation, oversee logistics, and serve as a liaison between leadership and the content creation team. This role includes a pathway to becoming Interim Director in the event of the Director's absence, providing key leadership in content strategy and production for the organization’s YouTube, podcast, and TikTok platforms.

Responsibilities: 1. Leadership and Communication
  • Attend monthly meetings with the department Director and all-organization leadership meetings.
  • Act as a liaison between the department Director and interns, ensuring smooth communication and workflow.
  • Assist the Director in decision-making and problem-solving within the department.
  • Interpret the organization’s work and values to the community, serving as a spokesperson for interns and representing the organization publicly.
2. Program and Logistical Procedures
  • Review and abide by all program and logistical procedures to ensure smooth operation within the department.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of content creation, including coordinating filming, scheduling interviews, and managing production logistics.
3. Interim Director Responsibilities
  • In the event of the Director’s absence, immediately assume the role of Interim Director.
  • Take on all responsibilities of the Director, including leading the department’s content strategy, managing the production team, and ensuring content quality.
  • Work under the supervision of the Assistant Executive Director during the interim period.
Qualifications:
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to manage a team and handle department logistics.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in content creation and media production.
  • Familiarity with video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro) and social media platforms (YouTube, podcast platforms, TikTok).
  • Ability to work independently, make decisions, and solve problems in a fast-paced environment.
