Job Overview:

As a Fundraising Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to raise funds for our organization. You will play a pivotal role in securing financial support from individuals, corporations, foundations, and government agencies to ensure the sustainability and growth of our programs and initiatives. Your expertise in fundraising techniques, relationship building, and communication will drive our fundraising efforts and contribute to our mission's success.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy Development:

  • Develop comprehensive fundraising strategies aligned with the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Identify new fundraising opportunities and innovative approaches to maximize revenue generation.
  • Conduct research to understand donor demographics, trends, and preferences to tailor fundraising strategies effectively.

Donor Cultivation and Relationship Management:

  • Cultivate and steward relationships with existing donors, including individuals, corporations, foundations, and government agencies.
  • Identify and engage potential donors through networking, outreach events, and personalized communication.
  • Maintain a donor database and ensure accurate and up-to-date records of donor interactions and contributions.

Grant Writing and Proposal Development:

  • Research and identify grant opportunities relevant to the organization's mission and programs.
  • Develop compelling grant proposals, applications, and reports in collaboration with program staff and leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with grant requirements and deadlines, including budgetary and reporting obligations.

Fundraising Events and Campaigns:

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute fundraising events, including galas, auctions, and donor receptions.
  • Develop and implement online fundraising campaigns, leveraging social media, email marketing, and crowdfunding platforms.
  • Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to create promotional materials and messaging for fundraising initiatives.

Budget Management:

  • Develop and manage annual fundraising budgets, ensuring financial targets are met or exceeded.
  • Monitor fundraising expenses and analyze cost-effectiveness to maximize resources and optimize fundraising efforts.
  • Prepare regular financial reports and updates for senior management and the board of directors.

Team Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Provide leadership and guidance to the fundraising team, including staff and volunteers, to achieve fundraising goals.
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment that encourages creativity, innovation, and professional growth.
  • Collaborate with program staff, leadership, and board members to align fundraising efforts with organizational priorities and initiatives.

Evaluation and Impact Assessment:

  • Monitor and evaluate fundraising performance against key metrics and benchmarks.
  • Analyze fundraising data and trends to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports on fundraising outcomes, highlighting successes, challenges, and opportunities for growth.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, political science, business administration, marketing, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of success in fundraising, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in nonprofit development or related field.
  • Strong understanding of fundraising principles, techniques, and best practices. CFRE, ACFRE, CFP, CNP, GPC and/or Fundraising Management Certificate preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate the organization's mission and impact persuasively.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders, including donors, volunteers, staff, and board members.
  • Experience in grant writing, proposal development, and grant management.
  • Proficiency in donor management software and database systems.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute fundraising plans in alignment with organizational goals.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Leadership experience, including team management, coaching, and mentorship.

Additional Requirements:

  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends, especially during fundraising events and campaigns.
  • Commitment to the organization's mission and values, with a passion for making a positive impact in the community.
  • Adherence to ethical fundraising practices and compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

Menzies Philanthropic Foundation is a non-profit organization focused on supporting the orphanages globally, based on the Shirley Menzies 5 Key Needs, designed to create the first eco-regenerative conscious community to heal trauma and provide safe homes for orphans and vulnerable families.

The organization is in is operating at the start-up level, currently working to provide a powerful regenerative, self-sustaining business model facilitated by its 'For Profit’, Social Impact Enterprise, and "Me Is We".

Through the development of residual-producing income streams, the "Me Is We" enterprise will supplement and eventually finance the Menzies Philanthropic Foundation’s ultimate goal of creating eco-regenerative conscious communities for wholistic assistance and development.
