The Donovan’s Venom is a 501c3 nonprofit organization focused on curating universal accessibility to fine arts and music education for all. We are passionately dedicated to ensuring that everyone, regardless of financial circumstances, has access to high-quality music education, performance opportunities, and fine art. We aim to inspire, empower, and uplift communities by fostering a love for music and the arts through our commitment to education, inclusivity, diversity, and social impact, which drives us to expand our reach continually and enrich the lives of those we serve.

We’re looking for a Head of Finance to join our growing team!

What you’ll do:

  • Develop and implement financial strategies, policies, and procedures to guide the organization's financial operations and decisions
  • Serve as a key liaison between the finance department and other departments or external stakeholders
  • Evaluate and optimize financial systems, processes, and controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy
  • Provide financial guidance and support to department heads, donors, and external partners
  • Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal controls
  • Lead and mentor the finance team, promoting a culture of accountability, professional growth, and collaboration

What we’re looking for:

  • 3+ years of experience as a Finance Manager, Controller, or similar role
  • Strong financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting skills
  • Knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles and practices, including fund accounting, grants management, and restricted funding preferred
  • Ability to interpret financial data and trends to inform strategic decisions
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools, such as QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, or other ERP systems
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field

Mission Statement

We strive to make fine art readily available to anyone who wishes to experience it, even when unable to do so financially. The Donovan's Venom, INC. 501(c)(3) produces annual benefit concerts, shows, and performances. These experiences are open for all community members. The Donovan's Venom, INC. 501(c)(3) exercises: artistic, comedic, and musical channels to bring soothing to children hospitals, hospices, shelters for the homeless, nursing homes, and various other entities full of people in need of assuagement. The Donovan's Venom, INC. 501(c)(3) has partnered with The Donovan's Piano Room to host weekly online lessons to students who wish to learn music, music theory, sight-reading, and musical techniques, even when they can't afford to do so.

The Donovan's Venom INC. Gives its resources to individuals who don't have the means or access.
