About Us: Educate. Radiate. Elevate. (E.R.E.) is a nonprofit organization established during the pandemic to address the growing educational achievement gap exacerbated by school closures. Our mission is to enhance the educational success of underserved students by providing high-quality instruction, enrichment, and test preparation. We focus on minimizing learning losses for low-income students to provide stability and opportunity for their families and communities.

Description: E.R.E. is seeking committed Advisory Committee members to provide valuable support in shaping and implementing strategies that enhance our programs and services. As an Advisory Committee member, you will play a critical role in ensuring our initiatives effectively support student development and address the unique needs of underserved communities. Your involvement will help drive impactful educational changes that benefit not just the students, but also their families and broader communities.

Requirements:

  • Location: Resident of or connected with Illinois and/or Texas.
  • Passion: Dedicated to education, equity, and community service.
  • Experience: Background in working with socio-economically disadvantaged communities.
  • Skills: An outgoing self-starter capable of collaborating effectively in a remote environment.
  • Creativity: Willingness to contribute creatively using your expertise, skills, and network.
  • Commitment: Participate in regular online committee meetings at least every other month.
  • Performance: Regularly complete specific KPIs related to organizational objectives.
  • Engagement: Be involved for a minimum of one year.

Duties:

  • Insight: Provide recommendations on addressing the unique needs of low-income students of color and their families.
  • Connection: Act as a liaison between E.R.E. and the community, fostering strong relationships.
  • Expertise: Utilize your professional skills to assist with goal-oriented tasks.
  • Networking: Leverage your network to build connections with schools, nonprofits, community service providers, and other key partners.
  • Support: Assist with fundraising and recruitment efforts (approximately 5-10 hours per month).
