Catholic Charities serves immigrants and refugees from over 30 countries every year. We are in need of a volunteer receptionist to welcome current and walk-in clients.

This is a great opportunity to support immigrants and refugees in Harrisburg, develop administrative skills, or utilize office skills developed in previous workplaces.

The time commitment is one day a week during the hours of 9 am-5pm. The start and stop time is flexible. This is an in-person volunteer position located in our Harrisburg, PA office. Volunteers need to be within driving distance of the office. Orientation and training are provided. If interested please read below for additional information.

Qualifications:

• Experience in an office environment is preferred.
• Ability to be in person at our office located in Harrisburg, PA.
• Bilingual or multilingual volunteers are especially encouraged to apply.
• Must be 18 or older.

Responsibilities:

• Commit to volunteering in the office one day a week.
• Notify the Volunteer Coordinator of changes in your schedule.
• Welcome clients who are in need of assistance or attending an appointment at the office.
• Connect clients with necessary office personnel.
• Take messages and manage office voicemails.
• Provide resources to clients that are available at the front desk.
