At GEAR Recovery, we believe in Giving Everyone an Advantage towards Resilient Recovery. We focus on providing Guidance, Education, Advocacy, and Resources to children and families experiencing mental illness and substance use disorders in their homes and communities. We are currently seeking diverse board members to join our team. We are searching for those interested in serving volunteer roles as a Secretary, Treasurer, Committee leaders, and supporting board members. Experience is not required, however, having served on a previous board or knowledge of board of director roles is desired.

Responsibilities of a board member include:

• Attendance at the monthly board meetings
• Contributions to the organization via services or membership
• Social Media and email correspondence
• Creating intellectual property i.e. social media posts, programs, newsletters
• Works closely with our Youth Leaders
• Attendance at relevant committee meetings
• Participation at various GEAR Events and community functions
• Oversight of budget finances, operations and organization programs
• Participation in fundraising and outreach and more!
• 1 Year Term obligations

The board works closely with the community, stakeholders, and families to ensure that GEAR achieves its goals and objectives.
