Basic volunteer duties involved with this assignment:

1. Pick up students from school in vans provided and insured by SWAG, & safely transport them to station
2. Create a positive atmosphere with a sense of belonging & support
3. Serve & act as a role-model
4. Report any maintenance needs for vans or unruly students to program leader

Basic volunteer qualifications involved with this assignment:

Positive background check, negative drug screen, safe driving background record, patience, compassion, and experience working with youth

Who will be served by this assignment?

Middle and high school students and their respective parents

What is the anticipated benefit of this volunteer service to those receiving the service?

Students will receive transportation from school to their program where they will have access to tutoring, dinner, & life-skills training

What specific skills will the volunteer need?

Confidence & competence with driving large passenger vans; ability to concentrate in a chaotic environment full of energetic students
