Poverello House works to enrich the lives and spirits of all who pass our way by providing meals, social services and temporary shelter. We work with partnering agencies to better assist those in need.

Poverello House is the first nonprofit in the country to successfully serve three restaurant-style meals a day, 365 days a year! We are seeking reliable volunteers to assist in both front-of-house and heart-of-house operations.

As a Restaurant Volunteer, you will support staff as a volunteer server.

list of duties as a restaurant server volunteer:
-Maintain a friendly and welcoming environment
-Regularly check-in with guests to see if they need anything
-Take food orders and accurately enter them into the ordering system
-Communicating any food allergy or special nutrition needs to kitchen staff
-Ensure all orders are filled quickly and accurately
-Providing attentive service to guests, like refilling drinks as needed and checking their needs during meals
-Promptly addressing any issues and referring to management when necessary
-Perform some cleaning duties, such as at the service station, around the kitchen, and in the dining area

this is an in-person role, averaging 20 hours per week. Flexible schedule, with shifts from 7 am - 6 pm, 7 days a week. Café shifts available for breakfast, lunch and dinner in 3-4-hour blocks. Please be prepared to serve for an entire shift.
