Our mission is to help meet the needs of those in our community, city, county, and beyond. To educate and empower the underprivileged and underserved, providing them with the opportunity to live more productive lifestyles. We are committed to assisting all individuals and families of all ages, ethnic backgrounds, and nationalities.
As a Database Development Volunteer, you will work closely with the director and assistant to implement a database of new and existing food pantry clients. Implementing a database program that can be used via tablet to maintain records of items received and disbursed to each household.
This is a virtual or in-person volunteer opportunity, Project based, time is flexible, but the new system needs to be in place as soon as possible. If in person, one time training of staff during distribution hours preferred (Wednesday 9 am - 12 pm at Whiteville, NC 28472).
Helpful skills and or experience implementing and training of application for data collection preferred.

HUNGER FREE AMERICA (formerly known as the New York City Coalition Against Hunger) is a national nonprofit group building a nonpartisan, grass-roots membership movement to enact the policies and programs needed to end domestic hunger and ensure that all Americans have sufficient access to nutritious food.
Our long-term goal is not just to ameliorate the problem, but also to build the people’s movement necessary to enact the economic and public policies needed to end hunger entirely. Given that hunger drains our economy and tears at our moral and civic fabric, we know that eliminating it will boost the nation both economically and spiritually. Towards that end, we’ve adopted the motto: "Ending hunger lifts us all."
