Our Community Dinner provides healthy, hot meals to 200+ unhoused and food-insecure neighbors each night. We have a Meal Prep shift during the day (approximately 4 hours long) where volunteers help wash, chop, cook, and help out around the kitchen, as needed, and a Meal Service shift (approximately 4 hours) where volunteers assemble meals and serve them to our dinner guests. Our Community Exchange rescues 2 million pounds of food each year, which we redistribute to over 110 nonprofit partners throughout L.A. Daily morning and afternoon shifts (3-4 hours long) ensure that all incoming food is
properly received, sorted, stored, and organized, and that outgoing food is being
prepared for each recipient as needed, with the guidance of staff.
Please note: Volunteers will have to sign a waiver and also wear masks for the shifts at the Community Dinner.
