We are looking for two enthusiastic volunteers to help operate in-person the front desk at the Cherokee National Forest Tellico Ranger Station in Tellico Plains, TN. The Cherokee National Forest falls under the USDA Forest Service and is comprised of 650,000 acres of land and is home to many different flora and fauna. It also receives around two million visitors annually. The Cherokee National Forest sees business from people and volunteers engaging with recreation and wildlife, to fire and timber.
In helping with the Forest Service's front desk, daily tasks include speaking with the public, selling America the Beautiful and park passes, answering phones, responding to radio calls, and other clerical tasks that might arise. The volunteer must be a quick learner, have good people skills, be patient, and be able to communicate clearly to the public when working as the Customer Service Representative. The schedule will be negotiable and will be intermittent or call when needed.
