We are seeking an individual with marketing and social media experience. Our ideal candidate should be well-versed in social media platforms and other online tools to generate interest. They should also possess excellent communication skills to write clear, accurate, and concise content. Additionally, they should be knowledgeable about using Facebook Meta to download data.
Our volunteers should be committed to keeping our social media platforms up-to-date, preferably two to three times per week. It is important to encourage interaction from our audience by commenting and sharing our posts to increase our followers on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Google+, and YouTube. Our primary goal is to build the Westway CT brand by setting and achieving social media objectives and targets.
In addition to working on social media campaigns and analytics, volunteers can create press releases for some PR projects to gain media coverage. They must handle any media inquiries and work with the Communications and Marketing Manager to obtain relevant information, photographs, and interviews when necessary. As a Social Media volunteer, you will be expected to attend brainstorming sessions and marketing meetings to help develop strategies and goals for social media campaigns.
Responsibilities
The candidate should be flexible with their time, as we anticipate them spending a short time each day (although not necessarily every day) updating social media channels. They should also be willing to attend occasional events and workshops to report on them.
- Social channel management: managing the company’s presence on various social networks, such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn
- Content curation: sourcing or creating content that is engaging, relevant, and in line with the brand image
- Community management: responding to comments from followers or customers on owned channels to build relationships and foster engagement
- Monitoring and analytics: tracking conversations related to the brand on social media sites to gain insights into customer attitudes and preferences
- Campaign planning and execution: devising campaigns that promote product launches or seasonal sales events on social platforms; playing a pivotal role in developing social media strategies for growth
- Analytics reporting: collating data points from all sources-including web traffic referred from social sites-then producing regular reports detailing successes and areas for improvement.
- Content creation: developing creative ideas that engage followers on multiple social media channels; creating original content (e.g., graphics, videos) for each platform
- channel optimization: using various social media management tools to ensure posts are optimized for maximum reach; regularly testing new strategies for community engagement.
Skills
In addition to fulfilling these tasks, social media volunteers need a range of hard and soft skills and relevant work experience to succeed in this role. Here are the essential skills and experience requirements typically mentioned in social media specialist job descriptions:

- Familiarity with analytics tools: knowledge of the most popular analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics) and how to analyze data from those sources
- Customer service experience: having prior experience handling customer inquiries and complaints on social media
- Experience with social media tools: knowledge of the most popular social media management tools and how to use them to optimize posts
Location and Commitment
We want to provide you with some important details regarding time, tools, and location for our volunteer program:
- Time: Our team operates in Eastern Standard Time. Any meetings or check-ins will be scheduled based on this time zone.
- Tools: Our volunteer program is entirely virtual and remote, conducted through the use of Zoom. Therefore, you must have access to a reliable computer and internet connection to participate in this program.
- Location: This is a remote volunteering opportunity that can be done from anywhere within the United States. As long as you have access to the required tools, you can join us as a volunteer from the comfort of your own home.
- Flexibility: Our volunteer program is designed to be flexible, and as such, we do not require volunteers to work a set number of hours each week. Instead, we conduct weekly check-ins and ask that you manage your own hours to meet the check-in requirements. However, we do have deadlines in place to ensure the successful completion of our projects.

Our models have helped others succeed by showing our participants how to become leaders who mentor others to transform lives, communities, and systems.
H.Y.P.E. goals are 1.) Develop programs that empower our participants to succeed. 2.) Provide the tools to cultivate individuals, who enter our program, to effectively manage their personal health, finances, and social responsibilities 3.) Provide our skills and expertise to persons, groups, organizations, and businesses who wish to utilize our model(s) in targeted areas where HIV and AIDS are at their highest. Thus, leading us to amplify their voices to become leaders and advocates in their community.
