The American Red Cross has a vibrant Youth Club program so that young people can get involved in our humanitarian mission while they're still in school. Here in Northern Nevada, we are looking for a Youth Club Coordinator who has excellent leadership abilities, loves working with youth, and wants to make a difference in our community. The time commitment is roughly two hours per month, and during that time you'll get to do the following:
- Meet with Red Cross Club officers and Club Advisor/Sponsor at beginning of school year.
- Be available to attend Club meetings as necessary or requested by student leaders, or arrange for attendance by other chapter leadership.
- Assist the Red Cross Club officers with Club registration/renewal process on Volunteer Connection, including ensuring the Club Constitution is approved and submitted.
- Approve volunteer hours of Red Cross Club members in Volunteer Connection.
- Provide Club with guidance and resources to be successful.
- Integrate Club members into the activities of the local Red Cross unit.
- Provide Club members with volunteer opportunities through multiple lines of service.
- Create and maintain an environment where youth feel empowered to lead and mobilize peers in community service projects addressing local and global issues.
- Provide recognition opportunities for youth and young adult volunteers throughout the year.
- Provide Club access and/or assistance with placing an order to the national branded merchandise vendor for any promotional product needs (i.e. t-shirts, water bottles)
If that sounds interesting to you, and you have some extra time to spare, please reach out! We'd love to have you as part of the team!
