Description
- Communicate with parents and school staff
- Collect parent information during events or pick up and drop off periods
- Assist Parent Liaison Volunteer with Parenting projects when not in the field.
- Attend important meetings in person and virtually. (PTA, SLT)
- Provide marketing materials to the school staff
- Use valuable time spent chasing School Teams to develop partnerships programs, and seek funds for the Parenting Department
- Get I’Raise Events on the DOE Schools Calendar
Benefit to the Volunteers
- Identify company norms, processes, and goals to maintain knowledge
- Detect opportunities for meaningful collaboration
- Secure collaborators' buy-ins and discuss parameters to be observed
- Strategic relationship building within pertinent partners and schools
- Observe opportunities to create relationships for the organization
- Research a variety of data to assist with designing Parent Content
- Assist with Parent Forms and Documents
- Receive pertinent trainings to effectively execute the position
- Ability to grow and use creativity in their role
- Grow their professional and academic portfolio
Volunteer Schedule
- Meet at the beginning of the week to create or review schedules.
- Visit Partner schools and other community events 2x a week
- Attend online school meetings and take notes
- Assist Parent Liaison Volunteer with Parent Empowerment Workshops and Events
- Weekly Assessment with Parent Liaison Volunteer
- Weekly professional training, must document key takeaways, and apply at least one to their life.
Supervision and Assessment Process
- Create a Rolling document of duties and tasks
- Use the rolling document to monitor the tasks list, comments, notes, and tracking of attendance
- Create a Calendar to outline the daily schedule
- Weekly meetings to tackle obstacles that may arise and document these as well as solutions
- Weekly Planning meetings to ensure responsibilities are fulfilled
- Powerful LinkedIn profile and Assessment portion of the Rolling document
- Utilize I’Raise Worklog to validate hours
- Communication via cell, google, chats, and emails.

About I’RAISE: I'RAISE Girls & Boys International Corporation, founded in the heart of the North Bronx in 2012, began as a mentoring program for at-risk female youth living in New York City Authority Housing. Under the visionary leadership of CEO Shanequa Moore, the organization quickly expanded its reach and impact. Shanequa, a Bronx native who overcame poverty and significant life challenges, was inspired to give back to her community, creating a resilient organization dedicated to supporting vulnerable children and youth.
