Beacon of Hope Hospice is extending life and quality when cure is no longer an option. Providing hospice services to those who may live at home or in a facility. We have multiple opportunities for volunteering with our hospice patients. The duties of being a hospice volunteer may include social visiting, reading the newspaper, doing a puzzle, providing emotional support, etc. A hospice volunteer is a very important part of our team. They provide support to patients who may not have any friends or family. They provide a special kind of support that hospice patients need during their end of life journey.

Description

Hospice volunteers play a crucial role by providing a wide variety of practical and emotional assistance. Their tasks include reading/playing games with a patient, running errands for patient, preparing light meals, visiting with the patient to give the family members a break, being a friend. Hospice Volunteers may also assist the hospice staff with making flower arrangements in vases for patients, make patient packets, assist with clerical office support. Hours can range from once a week to several times a week or month, we can work with your schedule. Great opportunity for Nursing and Social Work students! Volunteers 18+
