ORGANIZATION: Mentor's R Us Inc.

We are Mentor's R Us Inc., a dedicated organization committed to empowering individuals to inspire and model sustainable life skills through the engagement in hands on experiences. We are currently seeking talented and motivated volunteers to join us.

We are excited to offer Social Impact volunteer positions to help learn how to create lasting change in a community through a social change model of creating affordable housing, teaching adulting courses, and therapeutic life coaching planning.

Social Impact Internship Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or equivalent degree in business admin, marketing, entrepreneurship, design with specialization in social impact
  • Self-starter with ideas for how to effectively utilize technology in the office
  • Strong writing and communication and public speaking skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Leader
  • Driven and hard-working
  • Ability to take direction and multi-task
  • PowerPoint, Word and Excel experience a plus
  • Dynamic individual with a flair for creativity, adept problem-solving skills and a results-driven attitude
  • A passion for contributing to human services, young adults, community impact, and a commitment to giving back
  • High level of comfort with graphics programs including Illustrator, Photoshop, etc

Responsibilities

  • Manage one main project in addition to assisting the President of the BOD
  • Assist with the development and creation of our media and outreach materials of signage, circulars, mock ups, email campaigns, blogs, online promotion, etc.
  • Supervise social media content by responding to comments and inquiries as well as monitoring postings and activities made by followers
  • Research relevant and creative outreach opportunities for us to increase our presence in festivals, community events, and schools
  • Set up and attend marketing and networking/ fundraising events
  • Assist in the distribution or delivery and fulfillment of marketing materials and offers
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Assist with the preparation and delivery of training materials
  • Assist with planning, organizing, and hosting events
  • Perform analysis of marketing and sales data
  • Seek and analyze competitor marketing and sales materials both on and offline
  • Enter contact information into contact management systems
  • Provide support to social media efforts
  • Monitor social media for trending topics to utilize on social media channels
  • Maintain tracking report of public relations activity

  • Please note that this is an unpaid role
  • Volunteers who start before Dec. will receive Breakfast and Lunch Vouchers

Description

MRU acknowledges that Inspiration can unlock the keys to hidden potential in youth and adults. Our Programs match real world experiences with dreams that seem unattainable.

This program promises to improve relationships, self-esteem, social & life skills, emotional stability, morals, health and spiritual awareness. Mentor's and Mentees meet in teams for extra support. Activities are pre-arranged by topic to create the most beneficial environment for the youth and the Mentor.

MRU's Independent Living Program: Mentor's & Mentee's will share living quarters as MRU's philosophy expand to the home base. Mentee's will transition through the program in approximately three years until they gain their own independence into society.
