We are excited to offer volunteer positions for an Artist/Painter to renovate our premises, making accommodations for life skill courses, intake appointments and affordable housing for individuals who have been displaced due to inflation. Artist/Painter’s Qualifications Current student pursuing any degree in arts or in-depth painting training Must have experience and be a professional architect painter Strong communication and leadership skills Proven ability to work to stringent deadlines Ability to work as part of a team or autonomously Ability to work in a fast-moving entrepreneurial environment with competing deadlines and priorities Integrity, honesty, openness and a willingness to operate as a team player Responsibilities Take charge of a fun paint party that revamps our building's look, uniting the community in a colorful makeover. Painters will be working to paint the entire building to make it look professional and elegant Make on-site preparations such as building scaffolding, covering fixtures etc Interprets instructions to complete repairs according to work orders Select paint according to company requirements, and match colors of paint following specified color charts Mix paints to match color specifications then stir and thin the paints, using spatulas or power mixing equipment Take ownership of the project and manage independently Efficiently oversee your tasks and collaborate with your supervisor Complete your college essay or assignment as required by department if needed Why collaborate with us Contribute to the transformation of our property into a space that fosters growth and empowerment Gain hands-on experience and build the resume Develop management approaches and aptitudes for dynamic entrepreneurial settings Collaborate with professionals and fellow interns/volunteers to expand the network Please note that this is an unpaid role Starting before Dec. comes with a gift bag

Artist Qualifications Current student pursuing a BA or any degree in fine arts or arts education Strong communication and leadership skills Portfolio required (still-life drawings/paintings, examples of elements of art, and art style passion) Knowledge of the history and elements of art Adobe background required. MRU is currently seeking a Virtual Grant Writer who will prepare and send grant proposals in accordance with the programs, goals, and financial needs of the organization. Position also responsible for researching potential funding sources and keeping accurate records to track and submit proposals. If an organization supplying a grants needs additional information it will be the responsibility of the grant writer to answer questions or supply missing information. Work hours will be flexible depending on demands and workload. Virtual Volunteers may be able to work from home but may have to travel to an MRU location if necessary. Mentor's R Us Inc. (MRU) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to teach and guide disadvantaged youth and adolescents by providing developmental services through mentorship programs. MRU is currently seeking a Local Grant Writer who will prepare and send grant proposals in accordance with the programs, goals, and financial needs of the organization. The position also requires a volunteer to be responsible for researching potential funding sources and keeping accurate records to track and submit proposals. If an organization supplying grants needs additional information it will be the responsibility of the grant writer to answer questions or supply the missing information. If we are awarded a grant, a small stipend will be provided from the grant as a gift for volunteering. A time commitment of two (2), four (4) hours days will be required. Local volunteers will volunteer for MRU locations and work closely with MRU staff.
