Veteran Volunteers are needed in the Tucson area to help us honor our Veteran Patients. Veteran volunteers visit veterans who are on hospice service, providing companionship and support. This much-needed service helps honor vets who are dealing with a terminal illness, and who would benefit from the connection and understanding that only another veteran can bring.
This Gentiva Hospice branch serves patients across the northern part of the Tucson metro area, including Oro Valley, Marana and Picture Rocks.
Being a hospice volunteer is very rewarding when you experience how much your visits mean to the patients and their families. We provide all the training you will need to feel confident in your role as a volunteer. After the application process and training, most volunteers are assigned to one or two patients and make weekly visits with them. Volunteers can visit as it is convenient for them and the family they serve.
